Dalton Defenders Days
Dalton Defenders Days celebrates that fateful day of October 5, 1892 when the Dalton Gang was defeated in Coffeyville Kansas. The Dalton Gang attempted to rob two banks in Coffeyville and all but one of them was shot and killed. We celebrate the four towns people who gave their lives defending Coffeyville.

Sponsored by The Medicine Shop of Coffeyville, Professor Farquar for more than two decades, has enchanted
audiences of all ages with and acoustic guitar and a commanding voice. His repertoire is woven with timeless toe-tapping traditional tunes, bucolic ballads, lyrical laments, choice chanteys and droll ditties. Farquar spins a mighty fine yarn too; imparting historic narratives, comic chronicles and unabashed balderdash. The prestigious professor is also a mystifying master of magic. With amazing demonstrations of illusion, psychic vision, sleight of
hand, chicanery, hoodwinking and flimflam, he confounds even the most skeptical spectators.
-
Along his side is Polecat Annie, who roams the
countryside pulling an antique farm wagon full of old-time toys and artifacts, telling tales, and occasionally playing sidekick to Professor Farquar. But most of all, Annie is known for her popular dances from yesteryear, teaching rope twirling, tin plate juggling, lawn bowling, and much more.
